This plan is influenced primarily in 3 multiple building styles known as craftsman, and farmhouse, and bungalow. But as we know it, we believe craftsman is where this plan can best be categorized. So what is craftsman style? What merits that distinction?
By definition, Webster's dictionary offers the following definitions for craftsman:
*A worker who practices a trade or handicraft.
*One who creates or performs with skill or dexterity especially in the manual arts.
On a personal level we believe on adding to the upper definition with this statement.
A true craftsman is one who cares, one who sees and operates under a vision for each project, and one who "goes beyond the camp" and strives for only perfection. Is that obtainable? Perhaps not in it's fullness, ... yet. However, anything less than that attitude will certainly result in a level of disappointment. There is no "Good, Better, & Best", as one former large retailer used to offer. Good and Better have failed, and now only the BEST remains. So are the demands of the discreet home buyers.
To some this may sound quite obsessive, but we see it as a mandate for living, such as is the great Millennial Vision that will soon be so very blessed. While some warn of a very dark winter, we see the greatest winter ever, and it is happening right now! Every day of every week is full of goodness and very soon the spring of 2021 will roll in. Little robins and bluebirds will return and sing their wonderful songs, and flowers will arise from the ground once again. The opportunity to serve and to deliver fine homes to others will also abound.
And of such is the multi-faceted inspiration of this blog post and plan design, which we have simply named ... The "Graceful Green" Craftsman.
A closing thought here: If one could color God's Grace ... would it then be Green?
